Miss Trans KZN 2023
The event will take Place on 18 February 2023 at Umlazi W Hall – Emaweleni between 11h00- 16h00.
Miss Trans KZN is an Advocacy program by Trans Hope NGO. It was started in 2022 to give the transgender community a voice within KwaZulu Natal. Miss Lulu Zikode is the first to be crowned Miss Trans KZN 2022. She has been running a program with the organisation seeking Legal gender recognition. Miss Lulu has now taken Miss Trans KZN to the next level. The program educates young Transgender womxn to be able to stand and speak in the same voice LGBTQIA+ lead organisation are doing but this becomes an ongoing program as it speaks to visibility as we know within our communities we lack positive visibility.

Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week 2023
Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week is an annual event that takes place in February to celebrate and raise awareness of aromanticism. Aromanticism is a romantic orientation characterised by a lack of interest in romantic relationships. During Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week, people of all gender identities, orientations, and backgrounds come together to celebrate aromanticism and raise awareness of the aromantic spectrum. Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week was created in 2014 to raise awareness and celebrate aromantic identities, as well as increase visibility and understanding of aromanticism within the LGBTQ+ community.

World Wetlands Day
Every year on 2nd February, World Wetlands Day is celebrated internationally. This day marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in Ramsar, Iran. It was first celebrated in 1997. World Wetlands Day 2020 theme is ‘Wetlands and biodiversity’.
4 February
World Cancer Day
Every year on 4 February World Cancer Day is observed globally and is celebrated by WHO to aware people of the disease Cancer and how to cure it. The 2023 theme is ‘Close the Care Gap’. According to WHO, the theme is about having an open mind, challenging assumptions and looking at the hard facts such as inequity, income, education, location and discrimination based on ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation.

Safer Internet Day
This year, it is celebrated on 8 February. The day calls for all stakeholders to join together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, mainly for children and young people.
11 February
International Day of Women and Girls in Science
It is observed on 11 February to recognize the role of women and girls in science, not only as beneficiaries but also as agents of change. Therefore, the day focuses on achieving full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls. Also, to achieve gender equality and empowerment of women and girls.

World Radio Day
World Radio Day is celebrated on 13 February to raise awareness about the importance of Radio. In several countries, it is the primary source for providing information.
14 February
Saint Valentine’s Day
On 14 February every year, Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine is observed. Valentine’s Day is named after a Catholic priest named Saint Valentine who lived in Rome in the 3rd Century.
21 February
International Mother Language Day
International Mother Language Day is celebrated annually on 21 February worldwide to aware of the diversity of the language and its variety. This day promotes the awareness of language and cultural diversity across the world. On 17 November 1999, it was first announced by UNESCO.
